MEMCO Leverages TempWorks Buzz to Enhance Time and Attendance Capabilities

Marek Employment Management Company (MEMCO) is a customer-oriented staffing and payroll firm dedicated to providing high quality services to employers. Their services range from providing temporary workers to meet specific job needs, to long-term employee management strategies such as temp-to-perm and payrolling.

 

 

Implementation, Greater Efficiency and Rapid Growth

MEMCO has been a TempWorks Software client since June of 2013. Since then, MEMCO has experienced a rapid amount of growth, in part due to greater efficiencies provided by TempWorks staffing software products and its ability for customization, flexibility and reporting capabilities. When MEMCO started using TempWorks, only one of their customers was able to do electronic timecard imports. Now two-thirds of their customers do payroll imports. This has saved MEMCO the equivalent of 240 staff hours per week or six full-time payroll clerks. Importing this information also helps reduce the risk of human error from manual data entry.

In addition, MEMCO uses TempWorks Enterprise to email paystubs and W-2s to employees. Employees can also easily access their pay history from WebCenter. Before they started using WebCenter, MEMCO received hundreds of phone calls each week from employees looking for pay history information. Now they ensure that all employees can access this information via WebCenter and no longer waste time fielding hundreds of calls every week.

Buzz Mobile App Creates Efficiencies and Minimizes Time and Attendance Issues

MEMCO began using the Buzz mobile app for employee engagement in November of 2018. They value the added capability and flexibility of the mobile app, especially the geofencing and facial recognition time and attendance system.

The nature of our business is that we don’t know on a day-to-day basis which worksite some of our employees are going to be working at that day. With the facial recognition feature, we know in real-time which worksites our employees are checking in at,” says Wenzel. “Plus, anything that is entered in Buzz means that our payroll team avoids manually keying in the data, which saves time and prevents potential errors.”

For MEMCO, many customer worksites also do not have electricity to support an electronic time clock system. The Buzz mobile app still allows employees to check in and out easily and efficiently using their mobile devices regardless of worksite conditions. In addition, the mobile app time and attendance system has helped to reduce the issue of buddy punching, where employees check in for other employees. The mobile app also allows MEMCO to set parameters for how early employees can punch in at the work site before the shift starts.

To spur employee adoption of the Buzz mobile app, MEMCO leveraged their partnership with Zipwhip. When employees text a message to MEMCO, they receive an automatic reply with links to Buzz on the Apple App and Google Play stores in order to download the app.
