During his years running TempWorks, my dad was always very generous with local charities, his church, and anyone else who looked as if they might be in need. Following his example, I have recently renewed our company’s commitment to philanthropic activity.
This year our management team decided to involve themselves and our team, ensuring that some of our record profits from 2014 made it into the hands of those less fortunate. We chose as our cause this year, the Convent of the Visitation Monastery in Minneapolis. This is a community of Catholic nuns who work in North Minneapolis ministering to families in poverty.
TempWorks undertook setting up a giving tree hung with needs of various families with whom the Monastery works with. TempWorks staff were asked to volunteer to fill one of the needs, typically a children’s christmas present. Between Thanksgiving and Monday December 15th, we collected over 30 children’s gifts; matched by a dollar for dollar donation from my wife and I in Walmart gift-cards. See the photos:
My thanks to the team at TempWorks for their generosity this Christmas. I couldn’t be more proud of their selflessness and the spirit in which it was given. As a company we plan to do one service project like this per quarter and look forward to sharing the stories with our customers!
