Record Breaking Tax Form Processing
Did you hear the deep collective sigh of relief the TempWorks Year End Team just took after a hard-fought, record-breaking W-2 and 1095 processing season?
It’s our third year of record breaking W-2 and 1095 processing: In 2015, we hammered out 456,000 W-2s. 2016 saw a more than fifty percent increase in capacity with 700,000 W-2s. This year we leapt to nearly 1,000,000 W-2s and 1095’s sent from our facility in Eagan. Don’t even try to imagine the investment we make in fingertip bandages, cots, and paper-cut prevention training!
Year End season brings its particular demand for large-scale printing, folding, sorting, and mailing hundreds of thousands of wage and tax statements. It takes a little extra effort from our team to plan accordingly. We rent out extra office space in the building and give our squad of printers proper attention so they are full of ink and ready to fire upon command, and we don’t skimp on printers—with only minor adjustments, they could be mistaken for tanks if placed in a different setting.
Our heavy machinery is only half the troop, we hire temporary staff that reports to our Year End Team for printing, folding, sorting and mailing orders. Our teams’ hands and the printers rarely stop—running shifts round-the-clock. We have a smooth, strict, and streamlined system of damage control. Readers pull five percent of the tax forms and verify their accuracy physically—that’s 50,000 forms by hand.
We begin planning for January processing in July so that we’re prepared for the burst of year end activity.
